Stefano started working in the farm when he was just older than ten, he completed more than sixty harvests and he is still working every day with passion, supported by the family, growing his vineyards and peach trees with enormous appreciation and knowledge for tradition, always paying great respect for the territory and the relevant typical vine and fruit varieties.

Thanks to a long-lasting friendship and mutual respect that Stefano and his son Pierluigi are enjoying with Walter Massa, who is well known as the father of Timorasso and main contributor of the renaissance of the Derthona hills, updated wine making techniques have been implemented recently by the Davico family, along with the screw cap solution on the Derthona wine bottles.

Terroir

DAVICO STEFANO estate is located in Piedmont between Montemarzino and Monleale municipalities, near to Lombardy and not far from Liguria and Emilia, at about 400 meters above sea level on the forty-fifth parallel.

The forty-fifth parallel is an imaginary line that marks the equidistance from the North Pole and the Equator, the ideal latitude for great wines.

Our Wines

Derthona

“Clear and consistent straw yellow colour. Fascinating aromatic horizon which rich smells of cedar, peach and white spices. Mineral and honey notes are very typical of this wine. On the palate is warm and enveloping. A white wine with a great structure and pleasantness”

The Derthona Regina wine comes from 100% Timorasso grapes.

Vinification process starts with cold maceration for about 48 hours, then fermentation for about 12 months in stainless steel tanks and periodic "batonnage" of the lees during the same period of time.

Bottling is happening after 12 months from the harvest and then the wine is having minimum 7 months of refinement in the bottles, before going to the market.
